BTC-Network stands for Business Technology Center-Network that includes all BTC in the region all over the nation and it is also part of National Innovation System in Indonesia. BTC-Network enables information exchange  within the nation and its function to establish more cooperation among partners in Indonesia. With the existence of this network system, it is expected to realize the transfer technology process that lead to business development in the country.

In the year of 2000 the Indonesian Ministry of Research and Technology has worked together with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research Affairs Federal Republic of Germany (BMBF) in a project called Project Evaluation of Research, Science and Technology for Developmnet (PERISKOP).

The result study which completed in June 2002, recommended the establishment of the nodes of a network of national innovation system as a business and technology center that serves to bridge research world with the industrial world, in order to work together to build the regional economy. Special attention in this intermediation efforts are small and medium enterprises SMEs. Intermediary institution are called the Business technology center, or abbreviated as btc.​

BTC-network has a team-work closely with the Deputy of Administrative Sciences and Technology as well as Deputy Assistant for Science and Technology Small and Medium Industries. With the involvement of German expert advisor Franz Gelbke who is assigned at Ristek  and based on his experiences, these should optmize the issued policies for technology-based economic development in Indonesia.
